Waders and Wading Boots Help....Grrrrrrrrr

Hi guys. Well waders are a major tool in the steelheaders arsenal but always seem to be the major cause of my angst. Leaky seams are the usual culprit, which was the case again this weekend, but another problem is storage and the smell. Now I live in an apartment and have very little suitable space to store waders and wading boots. I usually try to air dry them and after they are dry, I then keep the boots and waders in a tote. After being out this past Sunday, my wading boots absolutely smell horrible, way worse than normal, to the point that I have them sitting outside on the balcony. The boots do not have any mud or debris on them, but they just stink bad. Before this causes me to get divorced, anyone have any solutions on how to keep my waders and wading boots from stinking up the apartment? Should I soak them in a light cleaning solution? I don't like leaving waders and wading boots outside in the cold, as I feel it quickens the degrading process. That being said though, i really don't have another choice. Thanks all.
